Bowl of Oranges

Bowl of Oranges, 2008

Magda’s prints examine the everyday, whether through household objects, common phrases or un-planned portraits. Her images of household objects convey personal connection to these mass produced items. Her portraits capture un-posed stances. Magda’s prints illustrating aphorisms look at the meaning and use of common phrases.

Magda works in the medium of printmaking, which lends itself to bold, graphic images. Printmaking also allows the hand-making of multiple copies of the same image, which makes it particularly appropriate for examining mass produced objects, which also exist in multiple, and the repetitive routines of everyday existence.
